Make a quiff after hair transplant

One of the most iconic men’s hairstyle, the quiff has been a big style statement since the 1950s.

According to research, it’s also judged one of the sexiest by women. When asked by a Men’s styling products company on which haircut they are most likely to swipe right to on dating apps, 28 per cent of the surveyed females picked quiff.

A typical quiff features short back and sides, and longer hair on top that’s swept upwards and backwards at the front. But this can be messy, straightened or brushed, making it a generally more versatile style.

But, can a hair transplant give enough volume of hair to make a quiff?

A good hair transplant certainly can. The reason is that, when hair roots are properly positioned in shingling pattern, the hair growth appears denser and more voluminous than it actually is. This is also supported by improved thickness of individual donor hair fiber thickness. Moreover, as transplanted hair have long anagen phase, just like permanent hairs, they can grow as long as you wish.

In short, after a good frontal restoration, you should be able to make a quiff. And here’s the proof,

The classic quiff  features shorter hair on the back and sides than on top. However, unlike buzz or a ‘fade’, the difference between the two is more gentle, giving it an elegant ageless feel.

Next time you go for a haircut, tell the barber that you want around four inches on top, with slightly more left at the fringe. Ask for the hair at the sides to be taken comparatively short, but not disconnected, and without a fade.

When you style your hair follow these tips,

  1. Wash your hair.
  2. Start by towel drying the hair gently. No vigorous rubbing.
  3. Apply a small amount of matte paste as a pre-styling agent
  4. Create a quiff using either your fingers or a comb while blow drying the hair to add volume.
  5. Finally, take a small amount of pomade and rub it between your palms and fingertips, then slick it through your hair from front to back.

Due to the natural weight of having longer hair, don’t overdo it on the products when it comes to styling, as this can cause the hair to fall flat.
